Setting up a Spam Filter in Microsoft Outlook 2000:

The following is a summary for using message rules (filters) to help manage SPAM by sorting incoming Email using Microsoft Outlook. Note: If you are using Microsoft Outlook Express, click here to see the correct instructions.

1. Click Tools at the top of Microsoft Outlook, then select Rules Wizard.

2. On the Rules Wizard window, click New.

3. Check messages when they arrive should be highlighted by default. Make sure that it is, and click Next.

4. Scroll down and check the box next to "with specific words in the subject". In the area below click on the words "specific words" and a new popup window will appear.

5. A box will appear where we can enter words to search for. Enter the word "spam" into the Add new: box. After typing it in, click Add and then OK down at the bottom.
Back in the Rules Wizard, click Next to continue setting up the rule.
