6a. Select move it to the specified folder from the "What do you want to do with the message?" box.
7. Then scroll down to the bottom of the list and select stop processing more rules. Now click specified in the Rule description (click on an underlined value to edit it) box.
8. Once you click on specified, it will ask you to select a folder. Personal Folders should be selected by default. Click the New button to create a SPAM folder. (That way you can still sort through the SPAM to see if anything valid may have been flagged as SPAM).
9a. Type the word 'SPAM' in the Name box, and set the Folder contains box to say Mail Items. Then click OK.
9b. A pop up window may appear asking 'Would you like a shortcut to this folder added to your Outlook Bar?' Select No. You should now see the same window from Step 9a, but with the added 'SPAM' folder under Deleted Items. Click OK, and then click Next in to move on to the next step.
10. Do not select anything from the Add any exceptions (if necessary) window. Just click Next.
11. Now to specify a name for this rule, type 'SPAM' in the first box. If you currently have a lot of junk mail in your Inbox, select the option to "Run this rule now on messages already in 'Inbox'." This should clear it all out into the SPAM folder after you click Finish. Make sure that your Rule description box matches what is shown below, and that there is a check mark beside Turn on this rule. Once done, click Finish.
12. Congratulations! You have successfully setup a filter for SPAM for your email for Microsoft Outlook. Now that you have a feel of how a message rule is created, you can create others. You can have several active rules on your mail program.
**NOTE: There is a possibility that some messages which ARE NOT SPAM could be moved to the SPAM folder. You may want to check the messages in the SPAM folder on occasion to see if you did actually want one or more of them.
